Research Seminar in CWE
In this course students identify and develop an understanding of current issues in an area of interest in the field of CWE, conduct systematic reviews of related literature, and articulate the need for a particular line of research.
Planning & Implementation
This course is grounded in knowledge and skills required for the contemporary and successful conceptualization of programs and strategies in career and workforce education, with particular focus on planning, implementation, and evaluation issues as contributing factors to program quality and success.
Comparative Study of CWE Systems
This course provides an overview of global perspectives and models for career and workforce education including a comparison of the European and United States systems.
Program Improvement in CTE
The purpose of the course is to help participants understand the need for continuous improvement of CTE programs, use a systematic process for program improvement efforts, develop working knowledge of basic data analyses, and justify potential improvement priorities and solutions.
Administration of CTE Programs
The objectives of the course are to enable participants to understand and describe the local context for program administration, the scope and nature of CTE program administration, and administrative processes and procedures used to administer local CTE programs.
Supervision of CTE Programs
The goal of the course is to help participants develop a working understanding of supervisory positions, roles, and responsibilities, underlying supervisory functions, and how specific supervisory practices work taking into consideration local organizational contexts.
Practicum in CTE
Drawing from coursework completed in the MA program and on their work experience, students identify an area in need of improvement and design a potential solution (e.g., curriculum materials, services, etc.), or  identify a research topic of interest and conceptualize and carry out an applied research project and present findings.
