University of South Florida. Served on the USF-Innovative Teaching Grants Review & Selection Committee. (2007-2008) as as a reviewer of proposals submitted to the annual competition for innovative teaching grants; on the USF Faculty Senate Research Council Focus Group (2007), involving a panel group of university-wide researchers charged with the analysis of experiences at prior institutions and identifying implications for the improvement of sponsored research at USF.

College of Education, University of South Florida. Serve on the Technology Action Group. (2007-2008) as a member of a Sub-Committee on Online Learning; on the New Faculty Mentoring Program (2007-2008), on the Search Committee for Associate Dean for Research (2004-2005), and on the Faculty Council (2005-2007).

Department of Adult, Career, and Higher Education (University of South Florida). Developed and Maintains a Newsfeed on Career and Workforce Education: News You Need to Know (2007-ongoing). The free newsfeed on career and workforce education is shared on a weekly basis with prospective students and a network of faculty and professionals interested in career and workforce education issues. Also served on the Annual Review Committee (2004-2005).

Human Subjects Committee (January-October 2003). Wheeling Jesuit University.

Florida State University. Served on the Dean Search Committee, College of Education (December 2000-March 2001).

Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, Florida State University. Served on the Faculty Search Committee for an Economist of Education and Development Position (2001-2002), Admissions Committee, (2000-2002), Curriculum Committee (2000-2001), and Merit Pay Committee (2000-2002).

University of Wisconsin-Madison. Served on the Human Subjects Committee, College of Education (1993-1999), and the University-wide Academic Staff Assembly (1997-1998).

Community Service

Served as forensics judge for the 4H/Tropicana Public Speaking Contest conducted at Middle School, in Tallahassee, FL. November 2001.

Conducted a presentation on the Mexican revolution of 1910 and the impact on current development of Mexico at the Madison Technical College (MATC) upon request from the Student Affairs Office (November, 1997).

Participated on a panel discussion about Cinco de Mayo for the program Focus on Equality of the Equal Opportunities Commission, City of Madison. The program was shown on Channel 12 (May 5-31, 1997).

Addressed the City Council regarding the importance of emphasizing multicultural understanding and celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Madison, WI, as per request from Alderman Gonzalez. (Summer 1997).
